Transport yourself and your family back in time to the Norman era of 1066 at Mountfitchet Castle. With its commanding position overlooking the Stort Valley, it’s a day out in Essex that combines education with real life experiences in a wonderful setting.
Unique time capsule
The castle is so historically accurate that it is now a Historic Monument fully protected by the Department of the Environment. It’s also been voted as Essex Attraction of the Year by Good Britain Guide. Take some time to visit the Duke’s bedroom, the prison, the kitchen and walk through an extensive Norman village.
