Cars of the Stars

Cars of the Stars is the world famous museum of the vehicles from film and television. If you’ve ever wondered what happened to the four-wheeled stars of film and TV of yesterday then this is the place for you and your family!

Firm Favourites

The cars aren’t restricted to the classics of your own younger years but firm favourites of children rest here too. Back to the Future’s DeLorean sits alongside Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and several Batmobiles! These cars and many many others have ended up in the Cars of the Stars Motor Museum in Keswick.

One Man’s Obsession

This excellent Cumbrian attraction started life as one man’s obsession and has evolved into a major collection of many of the most iconic motors of the silver screen. Perennial favourites such as Herbie the Love Bug, Mr Bean’s Mini and the A-Team van sit alongside the Interceptor. There are three Batmobiles and Thunderbirds fans will adore the pink extravaganza that is Lady Penelope’s FAB1 Rolls Royce, which Gerry Anderson took to the movie premiere!

James Bond Cars

An impressive collection of James Bond cars are enjoying their retirement at the museum and the collection features everything from 007’s customized Aston Martins to the tuk-tuk taxis from Octopussy. Previously housed in a converted garage section they have now expanded to such a size that they have been moved to their own building which is a ten minute walk from the main building. More suited to older children with an appreciation of the films, this is a fantastic feature of the museum not to be missed!

Chitty Chitty Bang

A firm favourite of children, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang can be seen and admired. The car one display is one of the cars used in the making of the film – it’s the “hovercraft car” and the main road car and still has the original engine and interiors. It’s a great way to bring this classic story to life in front of your wide eyed and awestruck children!

Highlight of the Day
