Immerse yourself and your family in the fictional world of one of the Lake District’s great literary figures. Beatrix Potter fell in love with the Lakeland countryside as a young girl on her holidays from London and your family is sure too aswell!
The World of Beatrix Potter is set against the backdrop of one of the largest of the English lakes in the bustling town of Bowness-on-Windermere on the lakes Eastern shores. After you’ve taken some time to explore this stunning area of Britain, make your way to this enchanting world.
Long before Harry Potter fired the imaginations of young minds, another Potter was leaving her indelible mark on the world of childhood. Beatrix Potter composed tales and illustrated her family of animals and these creations are lovingly re-created in three dimensional form at the World of Beatrix Potter.
This attraction is of course aimed at a younger audience but adults will be delighted and charmed by the look of delight on children’s faces as they encounter Mrs Tiggy-Winkle in her kitchen or Jeremy Fisher on his pond. The cheeky little bunny that started it all off is commemorated in Peter Rabbit’s Garden.
Six Areas of Attractions
The World of Beatrix Potter is divided in to six parts and neatly guides you through the wonderful tales from the short film that introduces you to all 23 Tales, through the brand new outdoor creation of Peter Rabbit’s Garden on to Mr McGregor’s greenhouse.
Stop off at the Beatrix Potter Tea Rooms for some refreshments during your visit, it’s award winning and serves sumptuous treats made from fresh ingredients and produce taken from their very own gardens.
As if the whole attraction wasn’t wholesome enough, they even support two environmental causes. In the UK they support Lake District Tourism & Conservation Partnership – the profits from the sale of Beatrix Potter eco bags help this excellent cause. Further afield, The World of Beatrix Potter supports WaterAid through donations taken at the attractions and special find raising events held throughout the year.
