Bellahouston Park isn’t far from Glasgow and it offers everything needed for a great day out in the open air with formal gardens to admire, open parkland to relax in as well as extensive sports facilities.
Impressive open space
Older children with a keen interest in the world around them with enjoy the Heritage Trail covering 31 sites of interest within the park. The self-guided trail takes just over an hour and there are also free tours hosted by park rangers who provide a running commentary on this impressive open space. Asphalt paths make it easy if you have young ones in prams or buggies, so you don’t miss out!
The park provides plenty of scope for outside entertainment and activities. Family ball games and extensive sporting facilities exist within the park – it has a ski centre with a practice slope, a cycling centre, an orienteering course, all-weather running track and an 18 hole pitch and putt golf course.
Take food for your family, there are some really great picnic spots where you can enjoy a peaceful picnic within the open parkland. If it rains then Bellahouston Leisure Centre, also within the park offers a range of enticing activities for non-members including a climbing wall, swimming and a children’s play area.
