Flamingo Land

Flamingo Land Resort is everything what you might wish for your days out with your kids. It’s a theme park, zoo and resort set in 375 acres of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. There are seven unique themed areas, including Children’s Planet, where your kids will have a whole day fun at the active play zone. So, be prepared to spend more than one day in this theme park if you want to see and experience it all.

Zoo & Conservation

Meet the animals at Flamingo Land Zoo! From farm animals to wild African animals, enjoy a truly amazing view at a very short distance. There are more than 140 species of reptiles, mammals and birds, most of them are endangered species, in Flamingo Land.

Together with your children learn about animals and get involved in it by participating in such events like Be A Zookeeper or Animal Encounters and have other educational visits available in this theme park.

Rides for all ages

After visiting wild animals, enjoy wilder rides! Flamingo Land presents eight extreme rides, a great choice of family rides, ten kid’s rides and some scenic rides.

Are you fearless enough to try the Cliff Hanger? It’s one of Europe’s tallest vertical drop rides, which exceed the speed of gravity for a freefall launch, multiple modes and a total lack of telltale sounds or movement, so that you wouldn’t get a clue when something is going to happen or end.

Flamingo Land gives you a new thrill ride – Hero! On 24th July 2013, British R&B star Lemar, plus a host of sporting and TV celebrities, launched Hero, the latest multi-million pound ride. Climb aboard and join your fellow cosmonauts for a suspended side-by-side journey delivering a truly unobstructed front seat view. And, as you climb the unique corkscrew to the launch platform, be sure to prepare for swooping turns, breathtaking drops and two heartline inversions, creating the incredible sensation of zero gravity.

For the whole family we highly recommend to have the Lost River Ride. This gentle riverboat safari will take you on a meandering journey packed with unforgettable sights and sounds, including rhinos, giraffes, lions, zebra and many more.

Throughout your trip you’ll hear fascinating facts about animals to further enhance the experience. And just when you think it’s all over, there’s one final surprise that you won’t forget. As you reach the end of this relaxing voyage, you’ll be teetering on the edge of the Lost River falls. With nowhere else to go, it’s a sixty-foot plummet into the plunge pool below. So, beware of the tidal wave that follows, as you’re sure to be engulfed in its drenching wake.

Go to the newly opened Dino-Stone Park. There is an awesome spinning coaster Twistosaurus which is excellent ride for families, as younger children (3’ 5” / 1.05m) can ride.

As for the smallest visitors, there is a whole Planet waiting for them in Flamingo Land. This active play area is designed to bring animals and children closer together, creating a truly enjoyable and educational environment.

Splish Splosh water play area is just what you need on a hot summer day. You’ll hear laughter and joy along with fantastic fun especially for the youngsters. Discover the buttons on the floors and in the trees that create surprising fountain effects and climb aboard the pirate galleon to man its water cannons.

Along with so many rides and playgrounds there is a fascinating programme of regular free shows, including the breathtaking acrobatic skills of Bongo Warriors, guarantees that the fun never stops.

Flamingo Land has a fantastic collection of junior coasters, carousels and fun slides, plus scenic rides to catch. For example, try a Cycle Monorail over the Metropolis area, but before that go get some snack as you’ll need to provide plenty of pedal power to reach the finishing line.

Food & Drinks

There‘s a great selection of restaurants, cafés and bars that are guaranteed to satisfy your hunger in Flamingo Land.

Throughout the day you can enjoy a fine selection of takeaway foods including traditional fish & chips, gourmet burgers, freshly baked pizza, classic Indian appetizers and fried chicken. And, with no less than seven cafés, freshly brewed Costa and Starbucks Coffee are always available across the park, accompanied by baguettes, sweet & savoury pastries and a choice of freshly baked muffins.

However, if you’re looking for a delicious choice of sensational lunchtime meals, three superb restaurants, plus The Coach House, the great family pub, are always at your service.

Ticket Prices

Ticket Prices at Flamingo Land may vary according to the season. For example, Flamingo Land doesn’t close for winter, but some rides are not available. Our kids screamed with joy from the top of the roller coaster of Flamingo Land.

Caravan clean and well looked after. Zoo brilliant (my son wishes there was elephants though). Rides good. Food expensive but same at any tourist attraction (budgeted for this). Sun all week made the holiday. Evening entertainment good and drink cheap we will be returning.
