For the budding scientists out there you will find and abundance of stimulating and interesting days out throughout the UK and Ireland.

Probably the most well known is the Science Museum in Central London, but the Glasgow Science Centre is amazing with its state of the art gleaming titanium building on the River Clyde. There are many hands on interactive activities to really get those minds working and a beautiful Planetarium. Or visit the Magna Science Adventure Centre near Leeds, the ultimate in interactive experiences split into pavilions for Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

The Eden Project has the biggest glasshouses in the world known as biomes. Children love it here, learning about the different climates and plants from different parts of the world, help build rafts and dens and in the winter it even has an ice rink surrounded by twinkling lights and fir trees. It is a perfect example of the interaction of Man and Nature.

The National Media Museum in Bradford is an excellent day out for all the family. Packed with galleries, exhibitions and archives devoted to film, photography, television and radio, meet a dalek or some of your favourite TV characters, change film lenses or join the special effects team.

These are just some ideas for science days out for the kids.
