Mention a day out at any theme park and any kid will jump and down with excitement! In the South East of England we are spoilt for choice with Legoland Windsor, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures, but in the North we also have Alton Towers which was the UK’s first real theme park.
Legoland is aimed at children aged 3-12 years with over 50 interactive rides, a Miniland created out of 40 million lego bricks, and Duplo land with a play park and water area. Great fun for the little ones.
Chessington World of Adventures is aimed at the whole family with action packed rides, Chessington Zoo and the Chessington Sea Life Centre. There is now Chessington World of Adventures Hotel Inn with 150 rooms and a large swimming pool.
For those of you that live in the Midlands or further north then Alton Towers is ideal for all the family with extreme roller coaster rides as well as gentler rides for the younger kids. Stay an extra day and check out the water park!
